- NEU guidance: lecturers' paid holiday ranges from 37 to 60 days plus bank holidays, depending on the college. The calculator's 35 days is an illustration, not your entitlement.
- Lecturers usually take leave outside the teaching year, unless a manager agrees otherwise.
- Part-time: leave days and bank holidays are pro-rated by your contracted hours against 37. In hours, that is the full-time days multiplied by a fifth of your weekly hours.

How much annual leave do FE lecturers get?

Why is there no national figure?
Since incorporation in 1993 each college sets its own contracts. National talks through the National Joint Forum cover pay recommendations, which colleges do not have to follow.
Can I take leave during term?
Usually not. Most colleges expect lecturers to take leave outside the teaching year unless a manager agrees otherwise.
How is part-time leave worked out?
In proportion to your hours. At 18.5 hours a week (half of 37), 35 days becomes 17.5 days, or 129.5 hours: 35 days at your own day length of 3.7 hours. Bank holidays work the same way: 4 days, or 29.6 hours.
